Psyllium husks or plantago ovate has several names in Arabic, including seed of the plantago or lisan al-hamal, and known in English as plantago ovate. This herb has many uses, and it is a very beneficial herb for the body. Its original homeland is India. Psyllium herb is used as a laxative for constipation, as it works by increasing the volume of stool and thus alleviating constipation. This herb initially works by binding to partially digested food passing from the stomach to the small intestine, then helps absorb water, which increases the volume of stool and reduces the problem of constipation.
